What MacMind is
MacMind is a personal AI assistant operated by Stephen Macpherson ("we", "us") for use by members of the Macpherson household. It composes daily briefings, manages home automation, and integrates personal calendar and email data.
MacMind is not a commercial product. It is not offered for sale or subscription. Access is granted at our sole discretion to a small number of personal users (currently fewer than 10 connected accounts).
Who can use MacMind
Access to MacMind is by invitation only. If you have been invited to connect your Google account to MacMind, these terms apply.
You must be at least 13 years old to connect your Google account.
What MacMind does on your behalf
By connecting your Google account, you grant MacMind permission to:
- Read events from the Google calendars you own or have read access to
- Read your basic Google profile information (email, name, picture)
MacMind will not write to, modify, or delete data in your Google account. A full description of what data is read, stored, and how it is used is in our Privacy Policy.
Your responsibilities
- You agree to use MacMind only for personal, household, family, and similar non-commercial purposes.
- You agree not to share your MacMind portal login with anyone outside your household.
- You agree not to attempt to extract, scrape, or republish other household members' data from MacMind.
Our responsibilities (and limits)
MacMind is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Specifically:
- We do not guarantee MacMind will be available at any particular time. The system runs on a single home server and may be down for maintenance, hardware failures, or internet outages.
- We do not guarantee that briefings, summaries, or automation decisions produced by MacMind are accurate. MacMind uses generative AI models (including Anthropic Claude) which can produce incorrect or misleading output. Do not rely on MacMind for safety-critical decisions (e.g. medical, financial, navigational).
- We do not guarantee data retention. While we make reasonable efforts to preserve your synced calendar data, accidental loss is possible. You should treat Google Calendar as the source of truth, not MacMind.
Termination
- You may revoke your Google account's connection to MacMind at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by emailing [email protected] to request full deletion.
- We may revoke your access to MacMind at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. In practice this will only happen if you misuse the system or are no longer part of the Macpherson household.
